The main entrance to the church is named the Giant's Door, or Riesentor, while on the left and right are the two Roman towers, or Heidentürme.

The name for the towers derives from the fact that they were constructed from the rubble of old structures built by the Romans during their occupation of the area. The Roman towers, together with the Giant's Door, are the oldest parts of the church.

The Prater Giant Ferris Wheel (Riesenrad)

Vienna's Giant Ferris Wheel (Riesenrad) was erected in 1897 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reign of Empereror Franz Joseph I.

In 1944, at the height of World War II, the Giant Ferris Wheel burnt down, but was rebuilt in 1945 - at the same time as St. Stephen's cathedral. The Viennese Riesenrad is the only giant ferris wheel of its time which is still in use today.

The Viennese café is a typical institution of Vienna that still plays an important role in Viennese culture and tradition. As you walk through the old city, you will notice them everywhere, serving not just coffee, but also a lot of other things to munch on. And yes, they serve water with your coffee.
