the ride from osaka, where the kansai airpot is to kobe was quite long, almost an hour. i had time to play around with my peleng russian fisheye lens. it is 8 mm and fully manual. i get a circular image on the 5D, then i just cropped off the extra black circular vignette.

i am off to paris tomorrow! i think i will bring the fisheye. i might get some pretty interesting shots with this lens.

Kobe beef refers to beef from the black Tajima-ushi breed of Wagyu cattle, raised according to strict tradition in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan.

Renowned for flavour, tenderness, and fatty well-marbled texture, qualities of Kobe beef are enhanced by the traditional (and well guarded) methods of raising Kobe beef. Allegedly these cows are treated like royalty.

It is ensured that they are free of stress, are allegedly given regular massages to relax them and given beer as part of their daily meal.

These babies can cost to as much as $300 per serving inf America. They can be served raw as sashimi (raw), as shabu-shabu(steamed/poached), or grilled(teppanyaki). Best rare! Yum!

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims observe a strict fast and participate in pious activities such as charitable giving and peace-making. It is a time of intense spiritual renewal for those who observe it. At the end of Ramadan, Muslims throughout the world observe a joyous three-day celebration called Eid al-Fitr (the Festival of Fast-Breaking).

i see a lot of people trying this out and results are pretty amazing!

good night my friends! time to rest for me. thanks for your constant visits and comments!

free burma!

free burma!
Originally uploaded by doctony
Burma is ruled by one of the worst military dictatorships in the world. Last month Buddhist monks and nuns began marching and chanting prayers to call for democracy. The protests spread and hundreds of thousands of Burmese people joined in -- but they've been brutally attacked by the military regime.

I just signed a petition calling on Burma's powerful ally China and the UN security council to step in and pressure Burma's rulers to stop the killing. The petition has exploded to over 500,000 signatures in a few days and is being advertised in newspapers around the world, delivered to the UN Security Council, and broadcast to the Burmese people by radio. We're trying to get to 1 million signatures this week, please sign below and tell everyone!

i also have a set of textures that i took. they are straight from the camera, but you can use your creativity in putting them in your creations...have fun!!!
