another IR shot i experimented with.

i saw this scene beside the condominium where i stay in and thought it could look like a japanese garden with cherry blossoms in spring!

this used to be the japanese embassy here in manila, i am not sure who lives here now. looks like an abandoned place in the middle of the city.

finally got the right white balance, thanks to my friend joseph, who incidentally made this IR camera conversion! so if you are in manila and you want to have your cam done, just send me an email! he he...

this is a shot i have done before, took this Ir version this afternoon. too bed it was not that sunny, wished a bluer sky with clouds would have been more dramatic.

it is friday! have a great weekend everyone!

taken almost 2 years ago with a different camera, my D80. From this i see that the sun has been moving to the right along the manila bay over the years!

colors are straight out of the camera, just a bit of curves added to increase the contrast a bit.

enjoy the rest of the week my friends!

and just a bit later....

same day as the previous shot, minutes later when the sun was just peeking good-bye behind the mountains in the horizon. added a bit of blue filter to bring out the cool tones.

still at the convention today so will have to visit later. enjoy the rest of the week!

the scent of morning

woke up to the sweet scent of these very tiny flowers of the kamuning tree. the tree is so much laden with these tiny blooms it is like a cherry tree in springtime. love it.

have a great weekend everyone!

here in the twilight zone

i missed the sunset yesterday, so i am posting something i took a while back. the colors of the sky are pretty much how i saw them, straight out of my nikon, that is why i love this camera! the active d-lighting brings out the subtle changes in the sky which would otherwise be either overblown or underexposed.

i am having my D90 converted to a purely IR camera soon...i can't wait to see what comes out of that!

enjoy the rest of the week everyone!

summertime in manila

it was ash wednesday last week, and in manila, this is the official date that starts the summer season. days have really been hot and soon, people will be heading for the beaches for their vacation.

it is good to be able to post again, a view from my place of manila's spectacular sunset as the backdrop for this bonsai silhouette.
