beholding beauty

beholding beauty

amazing grace

amazing grace
Originally uploaded by Doc Tony Photography
Grace means more than gifts. In grace something is transcended, once and for all overcome. Grace happens in spite of something; it happens in spite of separateness and alienation. Grace means that life is once again united with life, self is reconciled with self. Grace means accepting the abandoned one. Grace transforms fate into a meaningful vocation. It transforms guilt to trust and courage. The word grace has something triumphant in it.

Originally uploaded by Doc Tony Photography
it may look like some alien form, but this is actually still the same gerbera this time a bit close using the 105f2.8VR with the raynox close up lens.

did not use a tripod and it was a bit difficult to focus macros this close without shaking. had to take several shots before i got one that i thought looked right.

have a nice day everyone!

sticking out

i remember when i was in a choir, to "stick out" is a bad thing...it means one is not in harmony with the whole group! in this case, however, i thought that this oddly shaped petal that was sticking out of the gerbera's harmonius arrangement of petals was set for an unusual macro shot. hope you like it!

it's back!

it was in 2007 when i shot my first gerbera and it became some kind of a trademark. it was a continuous challenge then, how to shoot the gerbera in ways i never thought i could. i forgot why i stopped shooting them...perhap i just got bored with it or my creative mind has lost its fuel to come up with something new. well, today i shot the gerbera again...got myself a bright red one. for everyone who missed it...

let's see some light!

this shots gives me the feeling of being lost in a dark forest and finally seeing some light!

actually taken in the hospital grounds, taken with the long lumix 45-200 mm lens with the olympus ep-1. of course image quality is not as that of a dslr, but i do like the portability of this mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses!

enjoy the weekend!
