Fisherman's Bastion, Budapest

On the top of the old fortress walls is the Fishermen’s bastion, named so because it is said that in the middle ages, fishermen were in charge of defending this part of the castle wall. The seven towers symbolize the seven chieftains, who conquered the land for the Hungarians. In front of the Fishermen's bastion, the equestrian statue depicts Hungary's first king, St Stephen.
